Why did a Jewish day school graduation leave one grandmother moved to tears - not just by the students' knowledge of Torah, but by their singing of patriotic American songs? In this Torah Broker Spotlight, Rabbi Mendy Deitsch reflects on his experience and asks a bigger question: What happened to American patriotism, and what lies at the root of its decline?
A powerful and thought-provoking look at Jewish identity, American patriotism, gratitude, freedom, and what it means to be both a proud Jew and a proud American.
